Several RHS music students are also regular, active members of the following outside music organizations:
Ohio Band Director Conf. Honor Band
Each December, The University of Akron Bands hosts the Ohio Band Directors Honors Band, consisting of about 55 Ohio high school students, who perform at the OBDC conference. Selection is by audition only; auditions must be submitted to the University of Akron and requirements include a Class A or B OMEA Solo and scales.

Congratulations RHS Honor Band Members!
All State Band & Orchestra
The All-State Band and Orchestra are selected by audition submitted by students from across the state. Audition tapes are usually made in the spring and submitted before the end of the school year for consideration during the next school year. Students are selected over the summer. The All-State Band and Orchestra rehearse and perform as part of the Ohio Music Education Association Conference which is held each year late in January or early in February. The location of the Conference rotates between Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland.

North East Ohio All-Star Honor Band
Each January, the NE Ohio All-Star Band is hosted at Kent State University, which brings about 175 students together for a fun and intense two days of music-making. Students are selected based on their band director nomination, and participate in either a seventy-five member Wind Symphony or a 100-piece Symphony Band.
